I was fortunate enough to experience my own Destination Wedding at the stunning Beaches Turks and Caicos. This family-friendly, luxury resort is one of my benchmark properties for family travel, as well as for Destination Weddings. It is located on the incomparable Grace Bay Beach on the island of Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. It is a quick 15 minute drive from the airport on the included resort shuttle.
Beaches Turks and Caicos consists of 5 themed villages, 21 dining venues, a massive waterpark and 10 pools. It is large, but walkable, and it for sure has something for everyone. This resort is great for multigenerational family trips - grandparents, parents and children.
Weddings are included with a stay of only 3 nights or longer. Prior to travel, you will be put in contact with a wedding advisor who will guide you through the necessary documentation and minimum requirements for a legal marriage on the island. They will also give you guidance in choosing your wedding package including the venue, settings, decor music, photos and extras. You then meet with your planner when you arrive who will help finalize all of these details to ensure that your wedding is all that you dream it will be.
We were married on the beach, in a less busy area, but there are always guests who stop to witness your special day. After the ceremony, my husband and I took pictures while our guests freshened up or had a cocktail (or 2) at one of the numerous on-site bars. We held our reception at the iguana pool area, where they closed it off to the public and provided a sit down meal and dancing. We chose to have a fire-dancer which was a surprise highlight of the evening. The staff were attentive, kind and engaging.
We have been back to this resort numerous times as it is a family favorite. On subsequent visits, we have run into our wedding planner, Patricia, who remembered us and sent us some lovely treats.
I have had the fortune of guiding other destination brides with their Beaches Turks and Caicos wedding and they have been consistently overjoyed with the experience.
